cleared another presentation today(yesterday).. DED131.. turns out that it wasnt as good as what we expected it to be.. :(

sorry for not blogging.. too caught up with work.. this whole week is presentations.. next week e-learning, SLIGHTLY more relax, den following week all assignments are due.. so xiong.. -.-zzz people still say NIE v relac.. no wonder last time the macpherson staff told me they hated NIE.. argh..

went home get some tkd stuff den went to meet scarlett.. the hp that she wanted turns out to be $198 cos im not signing a new line.. just a plan conversion.. only upon new line, then got $60 discount.. poor thing.. she so sad.. had to call her mummy to ask again if should buy..

went for dinner with her.. the laksa i ate is not bad.. her char kway teow looks good too.. but too full to help her finish.. the veggies are nice though.. that i ate.. haha..

was quite tired.. waited for bus with her and cabbed back to ntu.. the stupid driver act blur when he went in my jalan bahar entrance, specifically told him pioneer entrance.. wan to eat my dollar.. fcuk.. ccb..

The candidate Shiva is one with several facial expressions. Although the joyous grins are often salient on his face, there are also times whereby the lesser evil gets the top of it. In times of cynicism, his grins fade away and a much more serious air can be spotted. It is common to see him puckering his lips in the midst of a discussion when views expressed do not draw parallelism to his own. In doing so, he settles into a serious tone and sets his mind thinking, processing the essential information to either accept or rebut.
Shiva is an Indian with sharp facial features. His cheekbones are very much protruding and the cheeks are rather lacking in mass. The choice of using the expression for the mask becomes the preeminent option. By puckering his lips, his already concave cheeks sink in even more. In contrast to the cheekbones, a very sharp contour can be observed on his face.
Such a distinction can easily be witnessed on the mask itself. The decision to cast only half the face is crucial as the prominent features are captured on the lower half of his face. It forces the viewer to concentrate on the defined features slated across his chin to cheekbone. The mask casted resembles much of the subject his own as he tried to match it to his jaws after the cast is dried and ready.
In trying to ensure that the subject need not strain his cheeks for too long a period, the artist worked a fairly fast pace, completing the main frame in about 20mins. Large stretches of plaster were stretched across both sides of his cheeks, starting from the chin top. Big pieces of plaster caters can cover larger areas, which in turn reduces the unevenness caused by the overlapping of plaster sheets. The artist was sure to spread the first layer smoothly to ensure that the initial layer can capture the contours effectively for later layers. A name card, an improvisation for a kebab stick, was used to reach into areas beside the nostrils and into the gaps between the lips. These areas cannot be reached easily by a human’s blunt fingers.

Managed to spare some free time of the books.. and also since theres a small demand for me to blog.. sighz.. sometimes really v tired to blog.. shall work on it.. if not, ,my blog is just going to be a blank page..

most recently, on Saturday, went shopping with jeremy.. long time no see fren.. went to the States to study.. leaving soon again.. was late over and over again.. but eventually we met for lunch.. its good to shop with people with an objective.. at least u know the places to go, and NOT go.. this doesnt really occur much in girls.. in general of cos.. got myself a T-shirt form Flexor.. not bad.. and also a pair of jeans.. also not bad.. haha.. jeremy got most of his stuff in his shopping list, cept for that brown sling bag.. no idea wads he lookin for in a sling bag.. cant help much.. i offered crumpler, but he mentioned that its cheaper in the States..

went out to eat in the later part of the night aft some revision with jonas and gang.. did i mention them before? my npcc frens.. the closest frens thus far.. we meet up every now and then.. went to watch Rush Hour 3.. quite a coincidence all of us havent caught it.. went for a v late supper aft that at Bedok 85..

talking abt Bedok 85, went there last thurday for my hall supper.. my goodness.. i had no idea hall suppers were like that.. we travelled from NTU all the way to Bedok on coaches, then to Geylang and finally Bkt Timah.. stopped over at Geylang for soybean n durian, to Bkt Timah for prata and drinks.. quite fun though despite the shock.. made a few frens.. hope to noe them better.. reached back hall at 330am..

the whole of sunday, i spent it at home.. studying.. preparing powerpoints etc.. hmmm.. shant elaborate.. a bore..

today, went back to macpherson again.. was first welcomed by the security guard.. nostalgia filled me, when i used to walk thru the gates being greeted my dewi or wenqing.. and a few others.. sorry only rem the girls.. :D then it was the security guard uncle.. later it was my colleagues.. chatted here n there.. asked me abt hows NIE.. can cope or not.. really nice colleagues i had.. went back to get some teaching materials from sing ee on cooperative learning.. hope its useful to my presentation.. :) also helped candy draft out a letter on why so many N lvl students dropped art.. hmm.. ya.. the joker meow choon also asked me to help stick some paper.. i quietly walked away.. haha..

went to catch a movie with my cousin youtian.. the secret.. not bad.. piano.. i like.. even though im a pre x 20 amateur.. and movie today is cheap! $7 only.. yeah.. i will try to watch more movies on wkdays..

yeah its been so long since i last blogged.. life has been hectic here in NIE.. lotsa stuff to read.. lotsa activities to participate.. but i guess i will get used to it.. after all, i'm expected to.. i'm gonna spend at least two years here leh.. die die also must adapt..

hmm.. there were a million things i wanted to blog but deprived of the time to.. so i'll just touch slightly on the recents..

well i checked into my hall.. hostel, for those of you out there who dunno wad it means.. Hall of Residence 1.. its freeeaaakiiiing far frm NIE.. and then again, NIE = National Institute of Education, a tri-organised campus with NTU ( Nanyang Technological University) & MOE ( Ministry of Education ). so NIE IS INSIDE NTU, PART OF NTU.. SO STOP ASKING ME WHY I AM IN NTU AND IN NIE.. thought of posting the map of the NTU campus here, but lazy la.. forget it.. my room-mates is quite a pleasant guy, 27 already.. had some working experience and came back to study.. so students out there, remember that studying never ends after secondary sch, not even aft pre-tertiary.. my room is still kinda messy and i havent brought in lotsa stuff.. brought in enough to last only till wednesday.. cos thurday holiday, shall b gg home..

had the NIE Freshman Orientation Camp (FOC) camp last saturday.. jokes sia.. everyone was late.. i think organisers too. i stepped into the LT to see it pitch dark.. waited for abt 5-10mins b4 the first pair of organisers appeared.. had some ice-breaking games in sch b4 heading to Sentosa.. i liked one of the ice-breakers, where we are supposed to face each other in two rows, forming a conveyor belt idea.. rotation basis.. yeah.. and u're supposed to tell the friend opp u, the first impression u had of him n her, positive and negative.. damn fun.. also before that, with the command of the camp organiser, we have to break up into groups wrt to given topic.. like for eg. "divide yourselves into groups of where you stay! North, South, East and West!" and " separate into two groups! one attached, the other still single!" within ur own groups, self-intro lo.. so u get to know more people in a fun way.. had pizza on the bus to sentosa cos the pizzas were late.. i think.. NICE! the cheese fondue is damn NICE!!! will eat it again soon.. mwahahaahahaahahahah... went to sentosa to build sand castles.. -.-''' i burst out laughin when Sherefudin (camp org) said that.. he mentioned that we're gg to b pri sch teachers, so next time can bring the kids go beach build too.. little did he knew that i will b teaching sec sch.. haha.. fun la.. i first time build sand castles sia.. my OGL(Nardia) wearing Levi's jeans some more lo.. soaked like mad when she was thrown into the sea.. had war games too.. flag snatching.. haha.. damn rough.. but fun.. in the end 3 teams gang up a/g one team.. and i was warded best camper in my group! =) a very simple gift.. but very meaningful.. and all my team members has a share in my award.. thank you everyone!

also, all these while, i've been blogging with my NEW laptop!! yeah! i finally own a laptop on my own! my paid $1000 for it, my mum subsidised the rest.. thanks mummy!!

think i will hav to upgrade to 2G Ram.. windows vista already took up 700MB.. knn..tmd.. take up so much space.. $180 to upgrade leh.. -.-''

went to one of my class today, module DED130: Educational Pyschology.. Thomas is our tutor for this AU.. really fun guy.. can capture the class attention, and also make us understand the deep concepts.. anw.. theres this thing that he said abt blogging.. that in blogging. we tend to visualise an imaginery audience.. yeah.. it aroused my attention.. i think i will look deeper into this aspect.. yeah..

ok.. gtg back to studying.. this Clement Greenberg guy.. argh.. so chim sia.. made me dig up on all the artist that i studied b4 during JC..
